The “Schwangere Auster,” meaning “Pregnant Oyster” in English, is a distinctive architectural landmark located in Berlin, Germany. Designed by Ernst Sagebiel and completed in 1942, this concrete shell structure served as an air raid shelter during World War II. Its unique shape resembles an oyster shell, hence the name. During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, I captured this photo while spending time with three close friends. We were relaxing, dancing, and engaging in light training. At a certain moment, I had the idea to take this picture, and we enthusiastically went along with it. This image serves as a constant reminder of that period, evoking memories of the uncertainties and fears we faced, but also the strength of our friendships and meaningful conversations.
